RAJFED Signs MoUs To Boost Seed Quality And Organic Produce Marketing

The Rajasthan State Purchase and Sale Cooperative Federation (RAJFED), on Friday, said that they have signed two important agreements (MoUs) with Bhartiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) for high-quality seeds and National Cooperative Organics Ltd (NCOL) for better marketing of organic produce. These agreements were made under the guidance of Gautam Kumar Dak, the Minister of State for Cooperatives, and Manju Rajpal, Principal Secretary and Registrar of Cooperative Societies.

Why This Is Important
These partnerships aim to help farmers and cooperative societies in Rajasthan in two major ways better seeds in which farmers will get good quality of seeds for crops like wheat, paddy, and pulses and will get better market access for organic products for farmers growing organic items such as millets, honey, medicinal plants, basmati rice, and more will get help in selling these products through cooperatives.

What This Means for Farmers
Farmers will have access to more reliable seeds, which can lead to better crop production. They will also benefit from improved marketing support, helping them secure better prices and wider reach for their organic products. Overall, this move is expected to boost farmers’ income and create more livelihood opportunities.

Minister of state for cooperatives Gautam Kumar Dak said, “This will not only help our farmers to market their organic products in the cooperative sector but will also provide them with better quality seeds. We are hoping to provide better livelihood opportunities to farmers and increase the access of farmer groups to the market. The MoU will provide better marketing opportunities for basmati rice, paddy, wheat, pulses, honey, millets, and medicinal products from the state".
