Samsung Expands Recycling and E-Waste Management Programs

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. said that the company was expanding recycling and e-waste management programs. The collection of electronic waste, recycling of material to be used in the product, and the firm's overall reducing environmental footprint for all its operations would contribute toward the attainment of sustainability objectives of the company.

Key Activities

Electronic Waste Collection and Recycling
Samsung installed collection systems of electronic waste over 50 countries that cover more than 180 countries before the year 2030. Since its introduction back in 2009, they have so far collected 5.69 million metric tons all the way up to 10 million for the year 2030 and by the year 2050 is estimated to rise to 25 million. In its takeback initiative, the company Samsung assures the responsible disposal of obsolete devices into either refurbished reuse or recycled back as raw materials.

The reusing of recyclables

Samsung is continuing with the sustainability initiatives and does the following;

It increases the use of recycled plastics and metals since it makes the product
Achieve the Platinum Zero Waste to Landfill certification in all locations by 2025
Device and production energy efficiency.
