TREDA to Power 10,895 Rural Farms with Solar Pumps
Tripura Solar-Powered Pump Scheme: A Giant Leap for Irrigation and Agricultural Development
TREDA, the state agency, is doing very good work regarding Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan, which is more colloquially called PM Kusum. The process includes distributing solar pump sets to farmers for the irrigation work. More than 10,000 installations of the solar pump can be expected by the judicial area of the state government through this process. As a result of the same, there will be enhanced agriculture productivity in the concerned rural area as well as ensured assured irrigation facilities to the respective farm area.
It has so far installed 3,616 solar pumps and thus benefited 3,616 marginal farmers, and irrigated 7,232 acres of farmland through these pump sets. This puts it right on target for commissioning over 10,895 pump sets under the PM Kusum scheme. It is likely that 5,051 more would be commissioned in the near future to achieve that target. Plan
