Yogi Government’s Healthcare Efforts Earn Patients’ Praise

Appreciation has poured in for the healthcare initiatives by the Yogi government from the injured patients and their attendants at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital in Prayagraj, following the tragic incident during the Mauni Amavasya snan at Mahakumbh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's prompt response and direct intervention ensured that the injured devotees receive proper medical care and essential support, easing the distress caused by the unfortunate event.

Injured patients in SRN Hospital express their gratitude towards the quality treatment provided by the government and facilities. In addition to this healthcare, the government extended their support to attendants of the injured by feeding them free of cost and providing basic amenities for the comforts of such injured patients. Arrangements are also made for the safe transportation of discharged patients. Ambulances and other transport options are provided to take home with no inconvenience.

Sanjoyita Yadav, 32, from Jaunpur, was one of the injured in the incident. She has been discharged from the hospital after recovering and thanked the doctors for the timely care and facilities. Her brother, Vivek Yadav, said that the doctors did a free CT scan, X-ray, and other diagnostic tests to ensure proper treatment. The hospital staff provided excellent care, gave her all the necessary medicines, and even ensured that both the patient and attendants received free meals. An ambulance has been arranged to take us home. We are grateful to the Yogi government for these facilities," Vivek said.

Similarly, 50-year-old Manorama Devi from Ranchi, Jharkhand, was also injured in the accident. Ishwariya Dayal, her husband, appreciated the efforts of the hospital staff and the government. "The Yogi government has made excellent arrangements despite the unfortunate accident. Under government orders, SRN Hospital provided top-notch medical care. My wife is recovering well, and we are thankful to the doctors and hospital staff," he said.

Singh Narayan, a 65-year-old resident of Fatehpur, suffered a leg injury. He shared similar sentiments about the commitment of the medical staff in the hospital and thanked the Yogi government for prioritizing the welfare of patients. "The doctors and staff are fully committed to patient care, and we feel truly supported," he said.

Gauri Sharma, a 34-year-old from Lucknow, also praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the swift response and the excellent arrangements made for Mahakumbh. “Despite the unfortunate accident, CM Yogi ensured that we received immediate medical assistance. The doctors worked tirelessly to provide the best possible treatment,” she said.

However, some of the patients in the hospital have expressed concerns over the incident and the circumstances under which it happened. Gauri Sharma believes that the accident was not accidental. "Given the arrangements in place, such an accident shouldn't have happened. This appears to be deliberate. There seems to be some kind of conspiracy behind it, which must be thoroughly investigated," she said.

Manorama Devi from Ranchi shared a similar view. "About 20 young men came running and started pushing the pilgrims, leading to a stampede-like situation. The government should also focus on this aspect," she urged.

Dr Santosh Singh is Associate Professor of Surgery and Media In-charge at Motilal Nehru Medical College, who updated treatment of the injured patients. He said that 41 injured devotees had been admitted to SRN Hospital, out of which 10 have already been discharged. More patients are expected to be discharged by evening. "All patients have received proper medical care, and their condition has improved. None of the patients are critical now. Along with the patients, their attendants are also being provided free meals," he said.

CM Yogi Adityanath's directives have given a new dimension to efforts, said Dr. Singh. "Every effort has been made to provide the best care to the patients. After discharge also, ambulances, other vehicles are being arranged to take the patients home," he added.

The prompt and sensitive response of the Yogi government in the wake of the Mahakumbh incident has acted as an important relief for victims and their families. With quality healthcare and free essential services for attendants plus timely transport arrangements, they all have been lauded in various quarters. The calls for a detailed probe into the circumstances of the incident indicate that the questions about the cause of the tragedy are still there. For now, the focus remains on the recovery of the injured and ensuring their safe return home.
