Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited proposes a merger with AG Enviro Infra Projects to optimize operations, improve efficiency, and strengthen its position in the solid waste management sector.
Mumbai, 27th March, 2025: India's top solid waste management company Antony Waste Handling Cell Limited (AWHCL) has signed a strategic merger with AG Enviro Infra Projects Private Limited. It is expected to make operations simpler, enhance service delivery, and more efficient by cutting out redundancies and costs.
The merger will rationalize operations and optimize the allocation of resources for the advantage of shareholders, clients, employees, and creditors. With the integration of AG Enviro's waste management services such as collection, segregation, transportation, and processing, AWHCL anticipates greater management capacity and effectiveness in service. The new entity will also be better placed to secure bulk orders from municipalities and industry, making it more competitive.
AWHCL has been a pioneer in India's municipal solid waste management industry for more than two decades. It provides end-to-end solutions from collection to transportation, processing, and landfilling. It has served over 23 municipal corporations and has Asia's largest waste processing plant at Kanjurmarg, Mumbai. It is also a pioneer in the waste-to-energy business, having run Maharashtra's first waste-to-energy plant selling power under Green Energy Open Access Rules.
This deal is in harmony with the long-term goal of cost containment, operational excellence, and growth by AWHCL. By integrating assets, the company looks to improve waste management services, cut operational overheads, and increase its capability to handle bulk municipal contracts.
