Azad Engineering Strengthens Sustainable Manufacturing and ESG Goals in BRSR

Azad Engineering, a supplier to international aerospace, defence, and energy companies, is positioning itself as a responsible and sustainable manufacturer. The organization is not only concerned with producing goods but producing them environment-friendly and socially responsible by consuming lesser energy, avoiding waste and maintains safe environment.
With initiatives like using renewable power and adopting strict EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) protocols, Azad Engineering has lowered the consumption of energy compared manufacturing. In FY25, its total energy consumption was 64,195 gigajoules. On the environmental side, the company used 1,806 kilolitres of water during the year. For air quality, pollutants like nitrogen oxides at 15, sulphur oxides at 11 and particulate matter at 33, all of which were within the limits. The report mentions scope 2 emissions which stood at 13, 288 tonnes of carbon dioxide which reflects that the company is still dependent on external electricity and is shifting towards renewable energy.
The CSR program of the company is focused on community welfare, training people with new skills and promoting developments. The company’s total number of workforce is about 1,802 people, women’s participation remains low which is around 2% but the leadership is trying to improve the gender balance. The board includes 25% women directors, and the company has put in key policies and ensure workplaces are safe for women. Azad Engineering makes sure that all permanent staff are given proper protections and benefits which covers health and accident insurance, PF/ESI, and benefit from training in ESG, safety, and skill development.
The company follows all 9 NGRBC principles which are approved by the board. The company has also reported a clean record, there have been no incidents of corruption, conflicts of interest, data leak or product recalls which increases the trust amongst stakeholders. Along with that, the company has grievance redress systems for employees, customers, investors and communities. Issues are tracked and, on an average, resolved within 48 hours.
