Bharat Tex 2026 brings together global buyers, exhibitors, policymakers and industry leaders to showcase India’s textile capabilities, strengthen trade partnerships and promote sustainable practices.

Bharat Tex 2026 Begins in New Delhi, Brings Global Textile Stakeholders Together

Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh inaugurated Bharat Tex 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event is India’s biggest global textile showcase and brings together the entire textile value chain. More than 6,000 buyers from over 130 countries and around 1.3 lakh trade visitors are taking part in the four-day event, spread across 1.6 million sq. ft. of exhibition space, where over 20,000 textile products are being displayed. The event is organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) with support from the Ministry of Textiles.

The event is supported by eight sponsor states, including Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, along with nine other states and union territories participating. International exhibitors from 14 countries, including the U.S., Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, New Zealand and South Africa, are participating in the event. Special bilateral sessions will focus on partnerships such as the India-US cotton partnership, India-New Zealand wool ecosystem, and India-UK FTA.

One of the major features of the inauguration was the signing of a Letter of Intent between BTTF and Première Vision Paris — one of the leading sourcing platforms for fashion and textiles globally. India is strengthening cooperation with European countries through this strategic collaboration to further enhance India-EU cooperation in innovation, sustainability, design and market access, while creating new opportunities for Indian manufacturers, exporters, MSMEs and designers to connect with leading European brands.

In his address, Giriraj Singh noted that Bharat Tex has come a long way since its launch three years ago and has now evolved into a global trade, investment, innovation and policy platform. He spoke about the 5F Vision introduced by the Prime Minister, which connects India's textile ecosystem with global markets — from Farm to Fibre, Factories, Fashion and Foreign markets.

The event is expected to feature more than 100 knowledge sessions, conduct more than 4,000 curated B2B meetings and facilitate the signing of more than 30 MoUs during the four-day event. The CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2026 will also take place, recognising responsible business practices across seven focus areas, including resource efficiency, circular economy and social responsibility.
