Bhupender Yadav arrives in Belém to lead India at COP30

Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, has reached in Belém to lead the Indian delegation at COP30, the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Yadav touched down in Belém with a clear agenda: represent India’s views on adaptation, climate finance and technology. He posted on social media platform X: “Arrived in Belém, Brazil, where I’ll be participating in the UNFCCC COP30. Over the next few days, I’ll be putting forward India’s view on matters related to Adaptation, Climate Finance and other critical issues.”

During pre-COP discussions in Brasilia, Yadav declared that “COP30 should be the COP of Adaptation,” emphasising that nations must agree on a set of workable indicators under the UAE-Belém Work Programme to measure progress.
