CapitaLand Hope Foundation Expands School Programme in Pune

CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand Group, has completed the second phase of its Hope School Programme in Pune, helping expand access to education for more than 1,400 students. The new phase was officially opened by Kishore Moorjani, Chairman, CapitaLand Investment India, school representatives and staff volunteers.

In this phase, 19 new classrooms have been built at a government school at the Zilla Parishad Primary and Secondary School in Bhoirwadi, Hinjewadi. Earlier in 2023, the school was improved by adding classrooms, sanitary facilities, and resources such as a library, computer lab and science lab, with the help from local authorities.

With the expansion, the school's capacity has increased and can now accommodate up to 760 additional students. The upgraded infrastructure is meant to provide improved learning conditions.

Gauri Shankar Nagabhushanam, Director, CapitaLand Hope Foundation (India), said, " CapitaLand has a strong and growing presence in Maharashtra across business parks, data centres, and logistics and industrial parks. The school, located in close proximity to CapitaLand’s business operations in Pune, reflects our commitment to building what matters for the local communities we are present in. Beyond infrastructure, the support from CapitaLand staff volunteers and community partners creates a more enriching environment for students."

Hope School Programme is for learning environments for students. Currently, it covers over 3,000 students in cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune.

CapitaLand Group is a real estate company with its head office in Singapore. The company operates in various countries.
