Cloudy Morning and Light Rain Bring Cool Weather to Delhi
Delhi witnesses cloudy skies and pleasant weather with expected rainfall and thunderstorms today, as per IMD's forecast.
Delhi is expected to remain cloudy, and weather should be pleasant throughout the day with occasional rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning according to IMD. The day of residents starts under cloudy skies today. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light and moderate rain in Delhi and its surrounding areas.
Temperatures in the city have marginally gone down than normal. The temperature in the city will likely remain at 32 to 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was still at 26.4°C during early hours this morning. It has been humid with 65% to 94% readings and hence the weather is slightly sticky, but the clouds and the light breeze have brought relief from the usual July heat. Winds are blowing from the southeast at 10 to 15 kilometres per hour.
Although it has not rained yet in Delhi up to 8:30 in the morning, the level of humidity, cloudy skies and favourable wind patterns are still suitable for rain to occur later in the day. The IMD reports says that all the regions in Delhi-NCR such as Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad can expect the same kind of weather with overcast conditions and chances of rainfall.
Looking forward, the weather is likely to be predominantly cloudy for a few days. There will be light rain on July 17 and 18, while July 19 and 20 could be dry but cloudy. Rain is likely to resume by July 21 and 22 with light showers and thunderstorms likely again.
For day-planners, it's best to bring an umbrella or raincoat. Roads must be used carefully by commuters as the rain that is predicted to fall later in the day can cause waterlogging in a few low-lying areas. The rain, nonetheless, is a relief from the intense heat and brings some pleasantness in the air of the city. The sun will set today at 7:21 PM, and tomorrow morning will see the sunrise at 5:35 AM. The moon will be rising tonight at 10:28 PM.
Continue watching for further weather reports and bask in the nice monsoon spell!
