After Friday night rain brought relief from the heat, Delhi may see rough weather again on Saturday. Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are expected, with a yellow alert in some parts of the city.
Delhi experienced rain on Friday night, lower down the temperature in the city. However, the weather conditions seem to be unstable over the coming days. A yellow alert has been announced by the Indian Meteorological Department for Saturday, cautioning against storms, lightning, and heavy winds. Several places, such as south and central Delhi, have also been put on a yellow alert.
There will be clouds in the daytime, with rains, lightning, and strong winds expected later in the day and night time. The temperature will be within 29 to 31 degrees Celsius in the day, and within 18 to 20 degrees Celsius in the night time. There will be more rains and lighting storms expected in the city during April 6 and 7 due to the onset of a fresh western disturbance.
According to IMD, the present dust storm and change in weather pattern are because of disturbances that occurred within the western part of the Himalayan Mountain ranges. Moreover, the moisture-laden winds blowing towards the east will make it more probable for rain and storm to occur in Delhi-NCR.
Despite the heavy rain, the air quality within Delhi is still poor. The AQI within Delhi is measured at 266, making the air quality poor. Among all the monitoring centers, seven stations were measured to have very poor AQI, while the other stations have poor AQI.
