Rainy Morning Brings Relief And Trouble For Delhi/NCR

Delhi-NCR residents woke up to a rainy morning again. The magic of regular rain that began on Wednesday carried over to the night, with light showers falling in most areas early today. While the rain has brought huge relief from heat and humidity, but not only relief also it has caused waterlogging and congestion in traffic in various parts of the city. It is also predicted that the rain is likely to continue for the next few days. Delhi-NCR is predicted to experience rainfall in the next five days by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). However, there has not been an official alert.
More Rain Expected Today
According to IMD, the weather will be cloudy today with the possibility of light to moderate rains throughout the region. Thunderstorms and lightning cannot be ruled out. The temperature in Delhi can rise up to 31°C, while the lowest can go down to 24°C.
August is also expected to start rainy from the beginning. The weather department forecast says that this spell of rain may go on till August 5, with a maximum temperature between 34–35°C and minimum 24–26°C.
How Much Rain Fell and Where in Delhi?
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), In the last 24 hours Delhi have received different number of rainfalls. The Safdarjung area received 68 mm of rainfall which is the main weather station. Other parts of the city recorded light rain, like Palam received 5 mm, Lodhi Road 7.7 mm, Aya Nagar 123.4 mm, Ridge 130 mm, Lodhi Road 72.4 mm, Pragati Maidan 45.6 mm, Rajghat 45.6 mm, and Pusa 37.5 mm.
Due to the rain, there was also a drop in temperature across the capital. On Wednesday, Delhi’s maximum temperature was recorded 1.7°C below normal, while the minimum temperature was 25.8°C.
