Farmson Partners with Schneider Electric to Advance Sustainability and ESG Goals
Farmson partners with Schneider Electric under the Green Yodha initiative to drive ESG transformation, decarbonisation, and resource efficiency in its pharmaceutical operations, aiming for completion by October 2025.

Farmson Basic Drugs Pvt. Ltd., India's leading pharmaceutical company, has partnered with Schneider Electric to promote its sustainability practices and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy initiatives. The partnership, initiated in February 2025 under Schneider Electric's Green Yodha initiative, will bring sustainable operations into Farmson's manufacturing processes.
The alliance aims to fight major environmental issues by bringing together strategic advice with technology and operational know-how. Schneider Electric will offer Farmson a total package of service to enable it to install and implement a structured program of sustainability such as monitoring carbon footprint and optimizing energy and water consumption.
Through the engagement, Farmson will initially collaborate with Schneider Electric to establish a science-based inventory of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions. The inventory will form the basis of the setting of science-based decarbonisation targets in accordance with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) worldwide. The ESG roadmap will inform long-term sustainability plans, making the company aligned with global climate obligations and reporting criteria such as CDP Climate Change.
Farmson will be going digital in its ESG business with the implementation of Resource Advisor, Schneider Electric's digital sustainability platform. The software allows monitoring and analysis of environmental metrics such as energy consumption, water consumption, and emissions rate in real time. Through the inclusion of digital monitoring in its day-to-day operations, Farmson is looking to encourage transparency and accountability in its sustainability initiatives.
Apart from planning and digitisation, the project would also consist of implementation at the grassroots level. The three factories of Farmson will be analyzed for energy and water maturity. These will establish pragmatic ways in which emissions can be reduced and resource utilization can be enhanced. The programme will enable transition to renewable energy, especially for Scope 2 emissions, in order to ensure long-term cost-effective operation and natural resilience.
The transition to sustainability project is to be completed by October 2025. It will not only have beneficial environmental effects but also cost savings in terms of consuming energy and water more effectively. The project will also act as a template for other Indian pharmaceutical companies in that it will illustrate how strategic partnerships can assist the transition to industrial responsibility.
Farmson, as a producer that happens to be in a capital-intensive business, is going a long way in minimizing its environmental impact. This partnership is part of an overall initiative in the pharma industry to balance business operations with sustainability objectives without diminishing competitiveness and development.
This initiative is a part of yet another undertaking by Schneider Electric's continued focus towards equipping Indian industries with climate resilience and operational excellence. With an emphasis on data-driven decision-making, digital enablement, and designed roadmaps, the partnership reaffirms the significance of sustainability for the industry.
