A new education initiative is providing textbooks and study material to nearly 500 rural students in Shahapur to help them continue schooling and prepare for exams.

Fatak Pay Launches ‘Shiksha Vikas’ to Support Rural Students in Shahapur

Fatak Pay, on Thursday, said that under Shiksha Vikas initiative, they have provided books and study material to nearly 500 students studying in Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools across Shahapur, helping them prepare for scholarship exams.

Under this initiative, the organisation aims to address the issue of early withdrawal of school children from classes 4 to 10 due to income constraints by ensuring that students receive adequate support through key exam books and the Sarav Exam before the academic year begins, reducing the risk of dropouts.

The initiative will distribute books to 328 fourth-grade students and 118 seventh-grade students who will receive both subject textbooks and exam study materials. The 10th standard students received complete textbook sets which included all nine subjects and Navneet reference materials for their exam preparation. The academic and career development of students at this level becomes their biggest opportunity to shape their future paths.

The Shiksha Vikas Programme supports three main Sustainable Development Goals which the United Nations Development Programme has established for No Poverty and Quality Education and Reduced Inequalities.

Abhishek Gandhi, Co Founder Fatakpay said, "The first step was helping students reach school. This initiative is about helping them stay. When students have their books from the start, it gives them confidence and a reason to continue their education."

The timing of the initiative was intentional, symbolizing new beginnings and hope. By carrying out Shiksha Vikas on this day, Fatak Pay aimed to give students a strong and positive start to their academic year.

Fatak Pay plans to continue expanding this initiative in the coming years by reaching more schools across Shahapur taluka, introducing additional academic support for Board-level students, and collaborating with local partners to widen its impact.
