Gensol Engineering Secures ₹968 Crore Order for 245 MW Solar Project

Gensol Engineering bags major EPC order for 245 MW solar PV in Gujarat's Khavda RE Power Park
Gensol Engineering Ltd has secured the EPC engineering, procurement, and construction contract worth Rs 967.98 crore for a 245 MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) project in Gujarat's Khavda RE Power Park. This is the biggest expansion for the company in the renewable energy space.
The project is part of a highly ambitious plan by India to increase its capacity in renewable energy and help the nation achieve clean energy targets. The Rs 967.98 crore contract includes Goods and Services Tax (GST) and encompasses three-year comprehensive operations and maintenance services which will ensure that the solar PV project runs quite smoothly for a long period after the time of its construction.
The Khavda RE Power Park in Gujarat is soon to become one of the world's largest renewable energy power parks with massive strides in solar and wind energy. Gensol's new project will add another 245 MW to the ongoing development of the largest among these massive hubs, where the combined solar capacity is expected to be over 800 MW.
In early February, Gensol won another big EPC order to build a 275 MW solar PV project at the Khavda Solar Park. The Rs 1,062.97 crore order has the maintenance service component as part of the overall 795 MW solar PV development package for the same location. As Gensol has emerged victorious on both these counts, it will now undertake the implementation of 520 MW of solar PV capacity at Khavda Solar Park.
It fits into the much larger renewable energy goals for the country as India looks forward to meeting clean energy targets. The Khavda RE Power Park will be part of the country's ambition to scale up the growth of development in the solar and wind energy sectors. India wants to develop such renewable power capacities to increase the lesser dependence on fossil fuels for reaching a long-term, low-carbon future. Strategically located in the State of Gujarat, the country's leader on various renewable energy initiatives, abundant availability of land space, salubrious climate conditions, and considerable government efforts are in energy transition.
Gensol Engineering was established in 2012. It is one of the country's most robust players in renewable energy and particularly in solar power. The company specialized itself in EPC services in the field of solar power and now expanding into electric mobility solutions. Gensol has an experience of delivering large scale and superior quality energy projects across India and beyond for the last many years.
One project that will certainly play a vital role in facilitating India's achieving its National Action Plan on Climate Change and overall long-term plans of reducing the carbon footprint is the Khavda Solar Park. Gensol's upcoming projects in this park will promote employment generation for the local youth and boost a cleaner, greener economy and future for their country.
Explore and tap into this country's plethora of natural resources in the pursuit of a novel solar PV source of energy security and towards an emerging sector. The sector on energy diversification has witnessed vast investment expressions lately because it has been pursued toward more sustainable alternative options due to continuous pushing supports by the government. This said, with the private sector along with government-public policy input, India is all set to achieve very high renewable targets in which an important player for them is the growing solar segment.
For all future stages of the project, Gensol Engineering shall be responsible for the development, installation, and commissioning of the solar PV capacity. The company will continue maintaining project time limits, quality, and efficiencies value standards set up during the construction and operating processes.
Conclusion:This is when the solar plant performs at its optimum within three years after the closeout of a project and efficiently produces reliable power to feed the grid and gives value to the renewable energy portfolio. The renewable energy sector in India is booming, and projects like Khavda Solar Park are integral parts of India's energy future. Focusing on large, sustainable projects lies at the core of Gensol's business, making the company a front runner of the shift in India towards clean energy.
