HPCL conducted 3,651 fuel quality inspections across its retail network, with no cases of adulteration or quality lapses found in ethanol-blended petrol
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on Tuesday said it has intensified fuel quality monitoring by conducting a fresh round of inspections and tests on ethanol-blended petrol across its retail network nationwide.
Between July 7 and 13, HPCL field officers carried out 2,173 surprise inspections at retail outlets to check ethanol blending compliance. That was on top of 1,385 regular inspections conducted across the network from July 3 to 13 as part of the company's routine quality checks.
The Corporation's Quality Assurance Cell, which handles anti-adulteration checks, added another 93 surprise inspections during the same window, while 49 fuel samples were tested through mobile laboratories. None of the checks turned up adulteration, contamination or any other quality lapse.
HPCL runs its quality assurance through several layers — field inspections, surprise checks, lab testing and ongoing monitoring — to make sure fuel sold at its outlets meets prescribed specifications. The company says the exercise is part of its broader effort to keep fuel supply reliable and consistent across its retail network.
