Hysata and ACWA Power Partner to Scale Green Hydrogen Production in Saudi Arabia

Hysata partners with ACWA Power to strengthen production of green hydrogen in Saudi Arabia
Australia-based electrolyser technology company Hysata has signed a partnership with ACWA Power of Saudi Arabia to scale green hydrogen production in the kingdom. According to the deal, Hysata's commercially testing high-efficiency electrolysers would be made available for future projects by ACWA Power.

Arabia Strengthens Green Hydrogen Leaseholds
It fits perfectly alongside Vision 2030 of the Kingdom, which talks about energy diversification and shyness towards hydrocarbons. Becoming a center of gravity for the whole world in producing green hydrogen, these are only two big ones among numerous renewable energy resources- the vast solar and wind energies.

Hysata's capillary-fed electrolysis system has only 41.5 kWh input electricity to produce 1 kg hydrogen, which makes it one among the most electrification-efficient electrolysers available. Thus technology promises reduced production costs and improved competitiveness of green hydrogen with fossil fuels alternatives.

Among the major energy developers in this part of the world, ACWA Power is indeed very active in leading several renewables and hydrogen initiatives. The company is also a major player in the NEOM green hydrogen project, which will have the capacity to produce hydrogen of about 600 tonnes per day by 2026.

Decarbonizing Heavy Industries
For decarbonizing energy-greedy sectors such as oil and gas, steel, ammonia, and chemicals, green hydrogen will serve as an important pathway forward. Hydrogen gives these sectors the scope to drop emissions and energy consumption while keeping up industrial productivity.

Saudi Arabia has always dreamed of becoming an ideal clean energy exporter, which is why investment in hydrogen is pouring into it. Abundant in renewable resources and large-scale projects in process, the kingdom has become the driving engine of progress in hydrogen technology and infrastructure.
