IFCI Highlights Ethical and Sustainable Growth in FY 2024-25 BRSR
IFCI’s FY 2024-25 BRSR highlights its strong focus on ethical governance, employee welfare, environmental responsibility, and community development.
IFCI has released its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for FY 2024-25. The report indicates that IFCI is committed to carrying out business ethically as well as responsibly.
The company follows all nine NGRBC principles, covering integrity, human rights, inclusivity, and sustainability. To make sure the company follows all these principles, IFCI has special group of senior leaders called the Business Responsibility Reporting Committee of Directors. This committee oversees ESG-related decision-making and ensures policy stays up to date. IFCI focuses on transparency, compliance, and digitization as core opportunities that strengthen its ethical and operational performance.
On the social front, IFCI has 31% share of women employees and ensured 100% coverage under health, accident, and maternity benefits. The company has made its offices friendly for differently abled persons, provides them equal opportunity as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. During the year 2024-25, the firm has had zero workplace safety incidents. To handle employee’s problem, the company uses three-stage grievance redressal mechanism, so that issues are resolved fairly and transparently. IFCI also gives regular training on POSH, vigilance, cybersecurity, ESG awareness, and leadership skills to its staff.
Environmentally, IFCI maintained responsible operations even though IFCI is not a factory or manufacturing company. Its entire energy consumption was 7,791 GJ, all non-renewable, giving an energy intensity of 11.45 GJ per ₹ crore turnover. It also consumed 530 KL, of which 388 KL were utilized, and 142 KL was discharge after use. Which means its water usage was 0.57 KL per ₹1 crore of turnover. In terms of pollution, IFCI produced 1,548 tonnes of GHG emissions, mainly from electricity and fuel use and ensures it follows all environmental laws. Any small amount of waste was properly handled and disposed through authorized agencies.
In terms of governance and ethics, IFCI follows strict rules to ensure all its work is done honestly, fairly and transparently. It has adopted a Fair Practices Code, Whistle-blower Policy, and Centralized Procurement Policy. There was no corruption, data breach, or human rights violation occurred during the year.
The company’s CSR activities are focused on community development, education, and healthcare. Such activities align with India's overall vision of inclusive growth. The company also keeps reviewing its own performance and transparent practices. By doing this IFCI aims to improve its ESG performance and play an important role in building India’s sustainable financial ecosystem.
