According to Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for FY 2024–25, the company is focusing on making hotel operations eco-friendly, which includes energy efficiency programs, renewable energy adoption, and sustainable guest services that don’t harm the environment. The major problems on which the company is working are saving water, reducing water waste and carbon reduction.
With initiatives like HVAC optimisation, smart refrigeration systems, renewable energy integration, and cooling tower efficiency, the company uses much less energy, i.e. 29 GJ per ₹ crore turnover, as compared to 55 previous years. As per the BRSR FY2025 report, the company also produced less waste, 519.74 MT, and most of the waste was reused and recycled. Harmful waste has also been reduced further. For water. The company used sewage treatment water plants, rainwater harvesting and low-flow taps to save water and move towards the zero liquid discharge goal.
The company’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) were mainly focused on the development of local communities, empowered women and skill building for underprivileged groups. In FY25, TAJ GVK has reported no deaths or any workplace accidents, which reflects strong safety practices. Every employee was given proper training on topics like ESG, workplace safety, POSH, human rights and compliance. The total number of employees was 913, of which 20% are women. All staff members are provided full benefits like health insurance, PF (Provident Fund), gratuity, maternity and paternity leave and daycare facilities.
TAJ GVK follows all 9 NGRBC principles, and the board has approved policies on ethics, human rights transparency, environment, and inclusive growth. For guests' and employees’ safety, the company has systems like grievance redressal, POSH and a whistleblower policy. The other way it resolves problems by using digital tools like TrustYou, TAJ Live chatbot, and TRW systems to quickly handle feedback and complaints.
