IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Rain In Delhi
People of Delhi can expect light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning. Daytime temperatures will stay between 32 to 35°C until July 12.
Delhi is likely to have a wet and humid week as the monsoon becomes stronger in the area. Residents can expect very light to light rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning during the day today. The southwest monsoon trough, which is a key weather system that brings rain, currently passes through several places including Sri Ganganagar, Delhi, Shahjahanpur, Churk, Daltonganj, and Midnapore and because of this, all these places are expected to get rain throughout the week. Which simply means, the weather will be cloudy and rainy in the city due to active monsoon system.
In Delhi, the people should prepare for a rainy and stormy day. Thunderstorms with lightning, sometimes with light to moderate showers, have been forecast by IMD. The IMD has issued a yellow alert, providing a cautionary warning and asking people to stay updated, especially if stepping out. Moderate rainfall, thunderstorms may upset life with traffic delays and waterlogging in low-lying areas.
According to the report, a thunderstorm would follow heavy rainfall between 31°C and 34°C temperature ranges during early mornings and late of the mornings. Even after residents will feel cooler, however the level of humidity will remain high at 100%, making it feel uncomfortably and sticky even if the temperature isn’t too high.
Weather Forecast for the Week
The IMD has predicted the weather for this week. It says that Delhi is set to experience rain on and off throughout the week. The sky will mostly stay cloudy, and there will be occasional thunderstorms in coming days. Daytime temperature will stay between 32°C and 35°C. This weather is due to the monsoon system that is currently active over northern India. The moist winds from the southwest are bringing rain and humidity to Delhi and nearby areas, leading to a cool but muggy atmosphere.
