Light rain and gusty winds may ease Delhi’s heat this week, with temperatures likely to drop to 29–31°C by Tuesday.
Delhi is likely to get some relief from the heat in the coming days as the India Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and strong winds across the city and are also predicted in nearby regions on multiple days.
On Thursday, sky is likely to remain cloudy and there is also a chance of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, gusty winds at the speeds of 30-40kmph.
The rain activities may come again on Sunday and Monday. It is for this reason that the temperatures in Delhi are expected to drop gradually, with the daytime temperatures expected to range between 29°C and 31°C by March 31. The maximum temperature was recorded on Thursday at 33.5°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 16.4°C.
Weather experts have indicated that the rains are expected to become more widespread from March 27, covering Delhi, NCR, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. A strong wesn disturbance is expected to come around Sunday or Monday, bringing more intense spells of rains and storms.
Weather expert Navdeep Dahiya posted on social media X platform and said that “on 27th March, spread of rains to increase and scattered moderate rains and thundershowers likely in Delhi NCR, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Rajasthan. Once again rising temperatures will take a dip. There is an indication of strong western disturbance on Sunday or Monday, it will bring widespread spells of rains and storms”.
Talking about the air quality in the city, it is still in the moderate level. Over the 24 hours the AQI recorded at 183 according to the Central Pollution Control Board. Weather forecasts indicates that the air quality is likely to stay same over the next few days.
