JK Lakshmi Cement has announced the launch of LC3 cement from January 2026, aiming to supply lower-carbon construction material for infrastructure projects in northern and western India.
JK Lakshmi Cement has announced the launch of Green PRO LC3, a Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3), which is among the early commercially available LC3 products in India. The company said the cement is designed to have lower carbon intensity and is intended for use in infrastructure and construction projects, including those in high-exposure conditions.
The product will be manufactured at the company’s integrated plant in Jaykaypuram, Sirohi district of Rajasthan. Commercial supply is scheduled to begin from January 28, 2026. In the initial phase, distribution will be limited to institutional buyers and project-based demand in northern and western India.
Speaking on the launch, Vinita Singhania, Chairperson and Managing Director of JK Lakshmi Cement, said the company has been working on improving manufacturing processes, resource efficiency, and its product range to align with sustainability goals. She added that the introduction of LC3 cement is part of the company’s efforts to integrate lower-carbon materials into its production portfolio while continuing to support construction needs.
Green PRO LC3 combines clinker, calcined clay, limestone, and gypsum to form a microstructure with lower permeability and higher long-term stability. The formulation can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 40% compared with ordinary Portland cement.
Shrivats Singhania, Deputy Managing Director of JK Lakshmi Cement, noted that LC3 cement provides an option for construction projects where long-term durability and structural performance are needed.
The introduction of LC3 aligns with the company’s broader sustainability efforts. In FY25, JK Lakshmi Cement reported a 49 percent renewable power mix, achieved 4.49× water positivity through conservation and recharge initiatives, and reduced CO₂ emissions through process optimisation and use of alternative materials. Material substitution has also lowered dependence on natural resources.
Arun Kumar Shukla, President & Director of JK Lakshmi Cement, added that investments in renewable energy, resource conservation, and operational efficiency support the production of low-carbon cement.
Commercial dispatches of Green PRO LC3 are scheduled to begin in February 2026 in Rajasthan, with further rollout planned based on institutional demand and regional requirements.
