LANXESS Unveils Sustainable Rubber Additives at Tire Technology Expo 2025

Hannover, Germany - LANXESS AG, a global specialty chemicals group, launched its green rubber additive technologies at Tire Technology Expo 2025. The Hannover, Germany-based expo focused on innovation in tyre production to enhance efficiency, performance, and minimization of environmental footprint.

In response to growing global demand to go green, LANXESS has developed a series of products aimed at enabling tyre producers to minimize their carbon footprint as much as they can while optimizing production efficiency. LANXESS's new products comprise antioxidants, processing agents, release agents, curing bladders, and accelerators, which are all designed to fit the tyre production of today.

Sustainable Additives for Greener Tyre Manufacturing:-Among the highlights at the LANXESS stand was Vulkanox HS Scopeblue, a green antioxidant made from over 55% renewable raw materials. It is a sustainable replacement for TMQ, a commonly used additive to extend the lifespan of tyres and prevent degradation. Vulkanox HS Scopeblue is manufactured at LANXESS's ISCC PLUS-certified German facility, conforming to environmental standards.

The firm also launched Aflux SD, a novel processing agent to be released in the second quarter of 2025. Aflux SD is used to improve silica dispersion in rubber compounds to deliver enhanced tyre properties like wear resistance, rolling resistance, and wet grip. All of these improve fuel efficiency and tyre life for a longer period, which is according to the trend of the industry towards sustainability.

In addition to Vulkanox HS Scopeblue and Aflux SD, LANXESS also launched some of its other leading products to help update tyre production:

1)Rhenodiv release agents – Assist in eliminating cleaning processes from the procedure, minimizing waste and boosting efficiency.
2)Rhenoshape curing bladders – Assist in maximizing vulcanisation, lowering processing time and energy usage.
3)Rhenocure DR/S – A specialty accelerator used to enhance fuel efficiency, lifespan and overall tyre performance.
4)Paving the Way to Sustainable Tyre Production

LANXESS's recent innovation is in synchronization with the transition of the auto sector towards sustainable production. As it concentrates on green raw materials, energy-saving manufacturing, and performance-enhancing additives, it intends to support tyre manufacturers to reach their own sustainability goals while not sacrificing on quality and performance.

Introduction of these solutions is a leap forward in minimizing the carbon footprint of tyre manufacturing. With increased efficiency and longer tyre life, LANXESS is empowering manufacturers and consumers to make a contribution towards preserving the environment.

Participation of the company in Tire Technology Expo 2025 confirms that it is poised to set the pace in tyre industry innovations. With people becoming increasingly demand-driven towards the use of green products across the world, the function of integrating sustainable rubber additives will pave the way for the future of tyre manufacturing.
