In a significant step towards a more sustainable future, Life n Colors, one of India’s premier home design brands, has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental stewardship by launching a series of impactful initiatives to mark World Environment Day. Known for its stylish wallpapers, wall art, and home textiles, the company is now deepening its focus on ensuring that aesthetic appeal is matched by ecological responsibility.

At the heart of this renewed commitment lies the company’s successful offsetting of 90,000 kilograms of energy-related carbon emissions for the financial year 2024–25. These emissions, generated through the production of Life n Colors’ wide range of home décor products, have been neutralized by retiring verified carbon credits. These Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) were sourced from a renewable energy project based in India and certified under VERRA’s globally recognized carbon standards. This action not only highlights the company’s proactive approach to carbon neutrality but also sets a precedent for others in the home design industry to follow.

Over the past year, Life n Colors has infused around 9,000 Indian homes with vibrant, yet environmentally conscious designs. The sale of over 11,200 wallpaper units is a testament to the brand’s growing influence and its alignment with consumers who increasingly prioritize sustainability in their lifestyle choices. Each product sold contributes to a larger vision: homes that reflect beauty without compromising the health of the planet.

Commenting on the brand’s evolving ethos, Ashutosh Pandey, Co-founder of Life n Colors, emphasized that true luxury lies in mindful living. “We believe beauty should never come at the cost of the planet,” said Pandey. “Designing luxurious spaces means being mindful of the impact we create, and that’s what drives every sustainability decision we make. From the energy we consume to the materials we source, every step is an opportunity to act consciously. These initiatives reflect our long-term belief that luxury and sustainability can, and must, go hand in hand.”

Further underlining its move towards greener energy solutions, the company has installed a 5 kW rooftop solar power plant at one of its facilities. This transition to clean energy not only reduces reliance on fossil fuels but also aligns with the brand’s broader goal of achieving energy self-sufficiency in the near future. By investing in renewable power, Life n Colors demonstrates that innovation and responsibility can coexist in the same business model.

In addition to carbon offsetting and renewable energy, the brand has taken steps to support biodiversity and environmental restoration. Fifty trees have been planted in Bandrol village in the Alwar district of Rajasthan as part of a symbolic but meaningful reforestation initiative. This gesture, though modest in scale, reflects a commitment to restoring the ecological balance disrupted by industrial activities. Moreover, it serves to partially offset the paper consumption involved in wallpaper manufacturing while contributing positively to the local biodiversity.

Packaging is another critical area where Life n Colors is making strides. The company has transitioned to using sustainable and recyclable packaging materials across all product categories. This shift not only minimizes the use of plastic but also aims to reduce the environmental impact associated with landfill waste. By aligning its packaging approach with global standards in circular design and eco-packaging, the company is ensuring that sustainability is embedded at every stage of the product lifecycle — from production to the consumer’s doorstep.
