Maha Kumbh 2025: UP Police Unveils Short Film To Warn Against Cyber Scams

As many will be visiting UP for Maha Kumbh 2025 and the police intends to spread some awareness about the cyber fraud crimes, it's released another small film. In this another short film too, a film star Sanjay Mishra is playing his role as of a saint as Shambhu Shikari.

The short film shows how cybercriminals try to cheat Shambhu Shikari. A scammer calls him and tells him that he has won a trip to London. He says that the trip will be all expenses paid, including travel, food, and accommodation for Shambhu Shikari and one companion. When Shambhu Shikari mentions that he has two disciples, the scammer offers to include all three of them and asks for their names, followed by an OTP to register them for the trip.

However, Shambhu Shikari outsmarts the scammer by sharing the helpline numbers 1930 and UP112, making it clear that he is a wise saint, not a fool. The movie ends with Sanjay Mishra telling the public never to share their OTP with anyone and to stay cyber-safe.

The DGP Uttar Pradesh, Shri Prashant Kumar, added that under the inspiration of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the UP Police is functioning hard to secure the devotees as well as the common masses from the Maha Kumbh cyber scam. The two films are designed within this spectrum of awareness with "Accommodation Scam" being the first one while this is "OTP Scams" in the current order.

The DGP also appealed to the public to refrain from sharing OTPs with unknown individuals, as highlighted in the film.
