Clouds have covered the skies over Delhi-NCR since this morning, and the weather department has predicted rainfall, which is expected to bring relief from the heat. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for today.
Delhi-NCR saw dark clouds covering the sky on Wednesday morning, giving people some relief from the recent sticky and humid weather. According to The India Meteorological Department, there is high chance of rainfall today across the city which will help in cooling down the temperature. This week earlier, there was a relief from humid and heat on Monday, but Tuesday brought back the heat and humid weather, and the weather condition made it difficult for the people of Delhi to feel comfortable and free from heat, many were left sweating throughout the day.
In May and June, Delhi got more rain than usual, which kept the temperatures lower. But so far in July, there hasn’t been much rain, and the city is still waiting for a proper monsoon to arrive.
Monsoon In Delhi
A few light showers in the past few days are not enough to cool down city, but they have brought moisture in the air, which has increased the level of humidity. Talking about the temperature on Tuesday, the highest temperature was recorded 37°C, which is just a bit above normal, and the lowest was 27°C, slightly below the usual.
As per the data, Delhi is likely to experience rainfall today, it is cloudy skies since you woke up. There is good chances of rain, thunder, lightning and light to moderate rainfall in various parts of the city. The temperature may stay around 34°C during daytime and 25°C during night. A yellow alert has been issued for the day.
Even though its humid, Delhi’s air quality has been good. For 13 days in a row, the Air Quality Index (AQI) has stayed under 100. On Tuesday, it was at 98, which is considered “satisfactory.” Similar air quality is expected for the next couple of days too.
