Mahakumbh Sees Over 35 Crore Devotees Take Holy Dip
Over 35 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam during Mahakumbh.
The sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati at Prayagraj is witnessing an unparalleled surge of spiritual fervour as millions of devotees, saints, sages, and Kalpvasis continue to immerse themselves in devotion. Since the beginning of Mahakumbh, more than 35 crore pilgrims have bathed at Triveni Sangam. On this very day when people visit the Ghats for Amrit Snan of Basant Panchami over 6.2 million have taken the holy dip by 8 AM on Monday consolidating the unidirectional spiritual correlation of such a huge religious congregation.
Mahakumbh, one of the world's largest religious congregations, continues to attract millions daily from all over India and the rest of the world with hopes of getting divine blessings through the bath ritual. According to estimates, by the end of the event in 23 days, participants' numbers are going to cross 500 million, symbolizing that the common masses still have faith and show devotion. On Sunday, February 2, around 12 million devotees took part in the ceremony, bringing the total to about 350 million, which was officially crossed early Monday morning. Governor Anandiben Patel of Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal of Rajasthan, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Arjun Ram Meghwal, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi, Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy, Speaker Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary and Chief of the SP Akhilesh Yadav also dropped by at Sangam.

Hema Malini, Anupam Kher, Bhagyashree, Milind Soman, and Kumar Vishwas, the celebrated poet, have been seen at the Kumbh. The cricketer Suresh Raina, wrestler Khali, choreographer Remo D'Souza, and Mamta Kulkarni, Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara, have also taken the sacred dip. Their participation has added to the grandeur of the event, inspiring millions of devotees.
