Race Eco Chain in its BRSR for 2024-25, has shown that it is strongly focused on sustainability and inclusive growth. Most of its business comes from trading waste PET plastics, which are then used by recyclers and fibre makers to create new products. In addition to this, the company also deals with biomass briquettes and recycled fabric products. Through this, Race Eco Chain is helping in transforming waste into usable resources, supporting industries that wish to reduce their carbon footprint, and achieving the concept of a circular economy where materials are reused.

Race Eco Chain segregates, recycles, and collects waste in an organized manner to ensure waste PET bottles and other products are converted into reusable products. The company plays and important role in boosting the India’s recycling system with operations across 24 stats.

The company has a total number of 61 employees, out of which 18% are women, and they also hold 17% of the seats on its Board. The company takes care of its staff by providing them all the benefits such as health insurance, accident cover, and maternity benefits. The company also give proper training on safety, sustainability (ESG), saving energy, managing waste, POSH, and human rights.

To monitor sustainability and governance, the company has established ESG Committee which is closely monitored by managing director. The company follows all 9 principles of the NGRBC, which cover responsible and ethical business practices. Race Eco Chain also has a strict policy of zero tolerance towards bribery, corruption, or any kind of unfair business practices.

According to the report by BRSR, the company used 771 GJ of energy and 1,872 kilolitres of water. Its energy use was very small compared to its total business (0.00000140 GJ for every rupee earned). The company also released 120.1 tonnes of carbon dioxide, which is much less than the previous year. One big reason for this drop is that the company started using electric vehicles to collect PET bottles, which reduced pollution from fuel.

As part of its CSR work, Race Eco Chain gives out food to about 300 workers, ragpickers, and people from underprivileged groups every month, and it also helps pay for children’s education. The company also conduct programs on waste management awareness and health and safety.  

The message of Chairman says that Race Eco Chain is one of the key players in the recycling industry because it is innovative, strong, and socially responsible, and works towards improving people's lives while protecting the environment.

Highlights

Energy: The firm used 771 GJ of non-renewable energy.
GHG Emissions: It was 12.6 tonnes from Scope 1 and 107.5 tonnes from Scope 2, very low compared to its turnover. 

Waste: Collected and sent more than 97,000 MT of plastics to recyclers.
