Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) Raises AUD 814 Million to Fund Australia's Green Hydrogen Project

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), the global renewable energy infrastructure investment specialist, raised AUD 814 million from the Australian Government's Hydrogen Headstart program. It will be employed in the green hydrogen project in Western Australia known as the Murchison Green Hydrogen project, which forms part of the country's master plan for green hydrogen industry development and carbon reduction. The gigaproject will generate hydrogen and ammonia from 6GW of onshore wind and solar energy and will only use clean renewable energy.

The Murchison Green Hydrogen project at Kalbarri, 20 km north of Mid West in Western Australia, is the globe's most sophisticated green hydrogen and ammonia project. The 1.8 million tonnes per annum green ammonia production will see most exported to Asian countries. The project is instrumental to Australia's energy transformation, ending the country's dependence on fossil fuels and facilitating global transition to cleaner energy.

CIP also has stakes in various Australian renewable energy projects, such as the Star of the South, Australia's most developed offshore wind project. With a gigantic development pipeline of more than 30GW, CIP is leading the way in developing the renewable energy future, promoting energy independence, decarbonization, and green energy solutions.

Murchison Green Hydrogen project is an Australian announcement to tap into renewable energy and while doing so become a global champion of producing green hydrogen in order to become a part of future global sources of energy. The scheme would undoubtedly be in favor of the domestic community because CIP would be very much integrated with the government and even with the Nanda People while trying to devise the scheme in the best possible manner.
