On World Environment Day, industry leaders shared their views on electric vehicles, alternative fuels, and sustainable investments as India works to balance economic growth with environmental goals.
India keeps tackling high fuel costs, urban air pollution, and climate issues. On World Environment Day, industry leaders talked about greener transport choices. Representatives from Indian Auto LPG Coalition, and BizDateUp underscored that sustainability is no longer optional; it is an economic imperative and civic responsibility. Their collective message: “India must accelerate the adoption of clean fuels and climate-conscious innovation to safeguard both the environment and the economy. Here is what industry leaders had to say.
Akshit Bansal, Founder & CEO of Statiq, said, " Global uncertainties in oil prices and our heavy reliance on fossil fuels harm both the environment and the economy. The switch to electric vehicles and clean fuel systems is not just the right solution; it's necessary. With rising fuel costs and unstable markets, low-emission options like EVs make more sense for the planet and our bank accounts. Since pollution is making our cities harder to breathe in, widespread EV adoption is key to fresher air and better health. Statiq is setting up charging points in neighbourhoods and office complexes and teaming up with businesses and policy makers to smooth the way. When eco-friendly commuting becomes user-friendly and reliable, it’ll attract tons of new converts.”
Suyash Gupta, the Indian Auto LPG Coalition's director general, talked about the environmental issues from India's millions of petrol and diesel cars. He thinks electric vehicles are super important for cleaner roads, but also mentioned that Auto LPG can help cut down on emissions in transportation.
Gupta pointed out that Auto LPG spits out less particulate matter, nitrogen oxide, and carbon emissions than regular fuels. He also pushed for policies to boost its use, like helping with vehicle retrofitting, building more fuel stations, and getting people informed about the benefits.
“Air pollution is the second-highest risk factor for noncommunicable diseases, making clean mobility a public health imperative,” Gupta said.
Jeet Mukesh Chandan, the Group Managing Director of BizDateUp, stressed that investments boost businesses committed to sustainability and greener growth. The company's been backing startups across electric vehicles, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, deep tech, and eco-friendly infrastructure, he added.
Chandan says the company puts a big chunk of its investments in electric vehicles. This shows a growing interest in tech that cuts emissions and backs up green transportation.
“The theme highlights an important reality that sustainability can no longer be viewed as a choice, but as a responsibility towards future generations,” Chandan said.
The comments highlight a wider conversation about clean mobility in India is electric vehicles, alternative fuels, and green tech investments. As the nation aims to boost its economy while protecting the environment, industry leaders push various methods to cut emissions and make transport more sustainable.
