Acronis’ 2025 ESG Report outlines the company’s efforts in AI governance, emission reductions, workforce engagement, and partner training across global operations.
Acronis released its 2025 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report, highlighting the company’s ESG activities, progress, and initiatives across global operations in 2025.
Responsible AI and Innovation
The report says that Acronis is using AI more and more both in its products and internal operations. AI is used to improve their security, backup, recovery, and management processes and also make employees work more efficiently. Most of them over 80% of employees use AI tools every week and more than 300 engineers have applied AI-assisted development, creating nearly 2 million lines of code so far. The company has rules and systems to ensure AI is used safely, data are protected and is supervised by humans.
Environmental Performance
In 2025, Acronis worked on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving efficiency, and using sustainable infrastructure. The company reduced its total Scope 1–3 emissions by 40% compared to 2024 levels, with most of the reduction come from Scope 3 emissions by 41%, primarily due to product use. The company also organised 18 Environmental Days in 11 regions, where employees collected 1,500 kg of waste and planted 1,780 trees. Data centre workloads were also moved to improved energy usage that follows international environment and energy management standards. The facility focuses on energy efficiency, hardware reuse, and recycling, and 70% of electricity consumption was matched with renewable energy certificates.
Social Impact and Workforce Engagement
The report highlights initiatives of the company that supported its employees and local communities. Acronis introduced programs where employees can channel feedback, take part in mentoring, get training via LinkedIn Learning, and volunteer projects. More than 600 employees took part in volunteer work and together contributed 2,378 hours to 129 community initiatives. Through the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, the company supported three initiatives and they are school construction projects, eight IT skills programs for over 550 learners, and 40 cyber safety workshops engaging 2,100 participants.
Governance and Responsible Practices
Acronis worked on improving governance by managing its rules, responsibilities and oversight inside the organisation. Acronis carried out its first Double Materiality Assessment, appointing a Board Sustainability Champion, and launching Compliance Navigator which helps customers and partners understand regulatory requirements. In addition, the company also updated AI governance, employee training, customer terms for AI features, and procurement practices.
Partner Training and Co-Innovation
The report highlights partner development; training over 4000 partner employees each quarter around the world (162 countries), resulting in doubling of the number of certifications year-over-year. The partner programs and advisory councils also contributed to product improvement initiatives and opportunities for providing valuable feedback, along with supporting each other’s participation at industry conferences.
