Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Installs 368 KWp Solar Plant to Boost Green Operations

Courtyard by Marriott Aravali Resort took the first major leap towards becoming green by installing a 368 kilowatt peak (KWp) solar power plant. The resort, in Aravali Hills, generates more than 1,270 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy each day. The project is part of the hotel's efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and dependency on fossil fuels.

The new solar system will cut down the running emissions of the property by a tremendous amount. Within one year, the energy produced will cancel out emissions that are burned up by hundreds of vehicles or thousands of mature trees. Solar panels are integrated into the architectural framework of the resort in a bid to get the maximum return on energy without sacrificing the natural environment.

The solar energy is utilized to power some of the resort's key operations, such as lighting, air conditioners, use in the kitchen, and heating water. By employing the solar energy for such key purposes, the hotel wishes to save money and go green, yet at the same time also provide a good experience to the customers.

Courtyard by Marriott Aravali is also following other initiatives in order to support environmental sustainability. Rainwater harvesting infrastructure, water conservation facilities, segregation of solid waste, and procurement of vegetables and fruits from local vendors are some of the future ventures. These are aimed at supporting a culture of sustainability into the routine operations of the resort.

This project of solar power is in line with Chalet Hotels Limited (CHL), the resort group company, vision. CHL is committed to its Net Zero 2040 vision and is still seeking green technologies in all its hotels. CHL has 11 hotels and resorts in India under globally known international brands and is expanding aggressively both its hospitality and commercial real estate businesses.

Chalet Hotels has also received a series of ratings and certifications highlighting its success with sustainability. Chalet Hotels is extremely high on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and "B" rated by CDP for climate change and water security initiatives. CHL is the first hospitality business in the world to join three significant green programs — RE100, EP100, and EV100 — relating to renewable power, power productivity, and going electric vehicle, respectively.

The Courtyard by Marriott Aravali shift to cleaner energy is not in isolation but revolution for the entire hospitality sector to equate luxury service with environmentally friendly practices. With increased green consciousness among visitors that allows them to demand greater responsibility from hotels, the latter are compelled to demonstrate an active role in the move towards cleaner energy and greener business across the globe.

Courtyard by Marriott has over 1,200 hotels in 60 countries and territories and provides personalized service to customers and business travelers. The hotel chain is also part of Marriott Bonvoy®, the largest loyalty program in the world with a choice of experiences and rewards.

With this solar business, Courtyard by Marriott Aravali is among a caravan of hotels in India embracing greenery in its architecture. The hotel is beckoning customers and stakeholders to the cause and assist in maintaining the long-term ecological balance intact.
