India Advances Toward 500 GW Clean Energy Goal
India moves closer to 500 GW non-fossil target by 2030, driven by solar growth, innovation and strong policy support.
India continues to make steady progress towards its target of achieving 500 GW ofnon-fossil energy energy capacity by 2030, according to Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General of The Energy and coffers Institute( TERI). Speaking at the induction of the 18th edition of the Renewable Energy India( REI) Expo, organized by Informa requests in India, Dr. Dhawan stressed the country’s achievements and ongoing enterprise in the renewable energy sector.
She noted that India has formerly installed 127 GW of solar capacity, marking a significant step in its clean energy transition. Shri Manu Srivastava, fresh Chief Secretary of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, underlined India’s growing success in achieving cost-effective renewable energy. He stressed that India has reached the corner of delivering round- the- timepiece solar- plus- storehouse power at ₹ 2.70 per unit, or around three US cents. “ Having innovated sub- ₹ 3 per unit tariffs without subventions and powered nearly 65 of Delhi Metro’s day demand, we're now proving that solar energy is feasible indeed when stored and supplied duringnon-solar hours, ” he said. Debashish Das, Head of the Renewable Energy Nodal Agency, Government of Odisha, stressed the state’s sweats to transition towards clean energy.
