InoxWind Strengthens Market Position with 153 MW Tamil Nadu Order

Inox Wind bags 153 MW Tamil Nadu wind turbine order

Inox Wind Ltd (IWL) Friday announced that it has secured a new order to supply 51 wind turbines in Tamil Nadu, India. The order has been placed by a clean energy participant in the world and is for an ongoing state project. Single capacity of every one of the wind turbines will be 3 megawatts (MW) and installed capacity will be 153 MW in total.

Inox Wind, India's leading wind energy solution provider, added further that it would provide limited EPC services for the project, excluding multi-year O&M services post-turbine installation.

This fresh order is a testimony to the growing dominance of Inox Wind in the clean energy sector as well as in receiving gigantic-order orders from quality global players. Inox Wind declined to comment on project details or the client.

The acquisition is a further follow-through by Inox Wind in its strategy for expansion of building its footprint within India's renewable energy industry and the particular wind energy business. The group has been a top contributor in the wind energy business of India, providing solutions to independent power producers, utilities, PSUs, and corporate investors.

Tamil Nadu project will assist the nation in fulfilling its ambitious goal of renewable energy and further fortify Inox Wind's foothold in the business of manufacturing wind turbines as well as the services business. As India's need for renewable energy, particularly in the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector, keeps growing higher, the ability of the company to execute the project and good product and service portfolio will ensure it is an ideal partner in mega renewable energy projects.

Inox Wind is a subsidiary of the USD 12 billion INOXGFL Group, a diversified conglomerate with business interests in chemicals, cryogenics, engineering, entertainment, and renewable energy. With the entire gamut of services ranging from manufacturing of the turbines to project execution and maintenance, the company is now a market leader in the business of wind energy solutions.

India has seen rapid investment in renewable energy in the recent past, with wind power playing a major role in national clean energy goals. The Indian government has also made plans for achieving 175 GW of renewable capacity by 2022 and 450 GW by 2030. Wind power is expected to supply the lion's share of this capacity, and among the leading states in wind power generation is Tamil Nadu.

Inox Wind's order book for new projects depicts the company's dominance of the Indian wind power sector as well as its ability to win massive orders from domestic and foreign firms. The integrated business model of the company that involves manufacturing turbines, deploying projects, as well as O&M services puts the company best suited to capitalize on India's growing demand for clean energy.

With its focus towards offering quality products and services, Inox Wind is still one of the pillar pillars that started fueling India's development in the renewable energy space. As India turns greener in the future, Inox Wind is still positioned to become one of the drivers that will lead the shift towards clean energy.
