M&G Investments Paris Aligned Fund Earns Sustainability Label
M&G Investments’ Paris Aligned fund range earns the ‘Sustainability Improvers’ label for sustainable investing.

M&G Investments has announced that its Sustain Paris Aligned fund range received the 'Sustainability Improvers' label in the UK, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable investing. The label, which reflects a commitment to responsible and transparent investment practices, seeks to help wealth managers and investors evaluate the sustainability performance of investment funds.
The Paris Aligned portfolio has three major funds: the M&G Global Sustain Paris Aligned Fund, the M&G European Sustain Paris Aligned Fund, and the M&G UK Sustain Paris Aligned Fund. The funds, which are overseen by John William Olsen and Rory Alexander, aim to invest in organizations actively making efforts to cut down their carbon footprint and align themselves with the climate objectives of the Paris Agreement. At least 70% of portfolio holdings are made up of businesses that are quantifiably on track towards delivering Net Zero emissions.
This acknowledgment is a landmark achievement for M&G Investments, demonstrating its historical dedication to responsible investing. The Sustainability Improvers label aims to provide investors with more clarity on how their funds are being invested and whether they are helping drive significant environmental change. This label also has an important function in the due diligence process of wealth managers and financial advisers, giving them a clear system of evaluating funds with sustainability goals.
John William Olsen, Sustain and Impact Equities Head at M&G, highlighted the significance of this distinction, saying, "We are delighted that our Paris Aligned Fund range is one of the first of its type to have been awarded the Sustainability Improvers label. This highlights the significance of transparency and accountability in sustainable investing. In these funds, we are intentionally investing in those companies that are making quantifiable progress towards a net-zero economy."
Paris Aligned funds' investment approach extends beyond mere exclusion of high-carbon sectors; rather, it proactively works with companies making the shift to sustainability. Investee companies are closely worked with by Olsen and Alexander to stimulate and facilitate them in their attempts to lower carbon emissions, and these companies are put on a definite path to achieving global climate goals.
Alex Matcham, M&G's Head of UK Wholesale Distribution, emphasized the influence of the label on investors, specifically in streamlining the decision-making process. "This label will assist wealth managers and advisors with their due diligence and, importantly, offer transparency to retail investors about the character of the underlying holdings and the fund's purpose," Matcham described.
M&G Investments has been a pioneer of sustainable finance for many years, continually building on its ESG-oriented offerings to give investors unambiguous and reliable choices for bringing their portfolios into alignment with sustainability objectives. M&G has already launched the 'Sustainability Impact' branding for its M&G Positive Impact Fund, which aims explicitly at investments producing positive environmental and social impacts. The launch of the 'Sustainability Improvers' label for the Paris Aligned funds further reinforces M&G's position as a responsible investing leader.
The use of the label should make M&G's funds more attractive to sustainability-focused investors. With the financial markets continuing to emphasize environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations, investors are looking for funds that do not only generate competitive financial performance but also further the ultimate mission of a sustainable future. The Sustainability Improvers label provides an authentic guarantee that M&G's Paris Aligned funds are investing in those companies that are actively lowering their environmental footprint.
M&G's sustainable finance commitment goes beyond separate funds. The company has played a leading role in developing industry-wide ESG standards and pushing for more corporate responsibility in reporting on sustainability. By ongoing dialogue with regulators, investors, and industry leaders, M&G is setting the course for the future of responsible investment.
Apart from the Sustainability Improvers label, M&G has also made substantial monetary investments in impact investment strategies. The company recently made a £200 million investment in responsAbility's impact investment programs, further cementing its presence in sustainable finance. The investment seeks to benefit companies and projects that create desirable environmental and social impact as well as sound financial performance.
As regulatory environments develop and investor appetite for sustainable investment solutions remains strong, the identification of M&G's Paris Aligned fund range under the Sustainability Improvers banner makes the company a leader in the ESG investment sector. By maintaining transparency, accountability, and active engagement with companies in its portfolio, M&G is establishing a high benchmark for responsible investing, proving that financial success and sustainability can coexist.
