A school-level initiative in Gurugram engaged students in tree plantation and environmental awareness activities, encouraging long-term responsibility toward nature.

Students Participate in Tree Plantation and Water Awareness Drive in Sohna

PNB MetLife India Insurance Company conducted a community-based initiative at Government Senior Secondary School Gairatpur Bass in Gurugram, focusing on environmental awareness and student participation.

There were various activities like the plantation of trees, drawing and painting, and an interactive session on water conservation. Approximately 100 saplings were planted inside the campus.

There was a suggestion that the students take up one sapling each and look after it. This activity would make the children learn more about the environment and their responsibility toward it.

Participants included employees from various sections within the company, together with school staff and pupils. This function had the participation of Dr. Suman Lata, the school’s principal, as well as teachers participating in the activity.

Sourabh Lohtia, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, PNB MetLife, said, “We believe that building awareness from an early age is key to creating long-term positive change. This Earth Day, it was heartening to engage with young students and encourage simple yet meaningful actions such as tree plantation, water conservation, and nurturing the saplings they adopt. Through the collective efforts of our employees and the school community, we aim to bring in a sense of responsibility towards the environment and contribute to a greener and more confident future.”

Similar activities were carried out across the organisation’s offices in different regions as part of its broader engagement efforts around environmental awareness and community participation.
