SWREL has secured major solar EPC orders, including an 875 MW project from Coal India, pushing its FY26 order inflows beyond ₹10,000 crore.

SWREL Gets New Solar Projects, Crosses ₹10,000 Cr Orders

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has strengthened its position in India’s renewable energy sector by securing major new engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) orders, including a landmark project from Coal India Limited.

The company has been declaredL1 (lowest bid) for the turnkey EPC package for a grid-connected solar photovoltaic power plant of capacity 875 MW (AC). The project, awarded by Coal India, includes O&M in addition to taxes, making the value of the deal close to ₹3,490 crore. It represents the first big-ticket deal that Coal India Limited has secured from SWREL, as the PSU makes steady progress towards transitioning to renewables.

Apart from this major project, SWREL has also won a 50 MW (AC) solar EPC contract in Maharashtra by an established private IPP. This marks yet another milestone for SWREL as it grows its presence in major solar destinations in India.

As a result of these recent wins, the total order flow for EPC contracts for SWREL in FY26 has surpassed ₹10,062 crore, well above what was initially forecasted for the fiscal year.

Bikaner project is significant since Rajasthan still holds a leading position among the states of India regarding solar energy generation because of the abundance of solar radiation and availability of vast lands for solar projects. It should be noted that solar parks in the state will contribute to achieving goals related to renewable energy sources in India.

SWREL, known for its global EPC expertise, continues to focus on expanding its domestic and international portfolio while improving execution capabilities and cost efficiencies. The company’s growing order book indicates sustained confidence from both public and private sector clients.

Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group shared,
“We are delighted to announce our first project from Coal India, and to partner in their renewable energy growth story. We are excited to close an eventful FY26 on a strong note and achieve more than INR 10,000 crore in EPC order inflows, which is significantly higher than our initial target set for the year. India continues to remain on a strong growth trajectory in renewable development and as one of India’s leading solar EPC companies we continue to look forward to sustaining the growth momentum.”

The latest developments highlight a broader industry trend, where traditional energy players like Coal India are increasingly investing in renewables, creating new opportunities for EPC companies like SWREL.
