Table Space signs a solar power agreement with CleanMax to reduce emissions across its Karnataka office portfolio.

Table Space Partners With CleanMax for Karnataka Solar Project

Table Space has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with CleanMax for a Group Captive Solar project of 2.7 MWp in Karnataka, India that will last for a long period of time. The deal will be important for the commercial real estate sector to introduce more renewable energy and solar power in India, and will allow Table Space to have access to clean electricity for its managed office centres, across the state. It will be expected to help cut the carbon emissions of over 500,000 square feet of managed office space, while contributing to the company's overall sustainability goals.

The alliance combines the expertise of Table Space, an enterprise-class managed office solutions provider, with CleanMax, one of India's top commercial and industrial renewable energy companies. In the agreement, CleanMax has designed and will install the solar plant, while Table Space will keep the environmental benefits derived from the energy that the solar plant can produce. Once the project is in operation, it will begin to provide power to the company's Karnataka facilities.

Promoting infrastructure for a Low-Carbon Office.

The renewable energy project is set up as a Group Captive, enabling Table Space to buy clean energy directly for their managed office portfolio. The idea of the captive is that the business can access renewable power sources and be held accountable for the environmental impact of the project, unlike traditional power sources.

In the era of businesses becoming more and more aware of their need to cut down on the emissions they produce in their operations, office spaces have become vital in their corporate sustainability plans. The number of multinational companies and domestic companies that now have to measure and report emissions associated with the energy use throughout their activities, including in their workplaces, has increased. Table Space's aim to power their managed office centres with solar energy, therefore making the energy consumption of the occupiers cleaner and at the same time contributes to the reduction of carbon.

The increasing demand for sustainable workspaces. The rising popularity for sustainable workspaces.

Commercial demand for green credentials has steadily been increasing with a greater focus on environment, social and governance (ESG) by businesses. Companies are looking for offices that are not only as efficient as possible to operate, but that also assist them in minimizing indirect emissions stemming from their office operations.

By using renewable energy generated from the Karnataka solar project, it is anticipated that the initiative will have a tangible impact on the environment by reducing reliance on traditional sources of energy and lowering carbon emissions. This helps to move towards a low-carbon office infrastructure and increase transparency of energy sourcing.

Leadership Highlights Sustainability Goals

Sustainability is an important part of enterprise infrastructure, Kunal Mehra, President and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Table Space, said in a statement when commenting on the partnership. As organisations work increasingly towards reducing the environmental footprint of their work, workplaces have become more strategic in fulfilling this objective, he added.

With the support of CleanMax, the company will be able to guarantee that the electricity that powers its facilities is clean, captive and especially developed in its centres, according to Mehra. The deal enhances Table Space’s operational resilience and contributes to enterprise customers' own environmental goals, he added.

CleanMax expands its partnership with renewable energy.

CleanMax's goal is to help businesses realize their carbon footprint reduction goals with renewable energy solutions, said Kuldeep Jain, founder and managing director of the company. By choosing the Group Captive renewable energy model, Table Space has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability, which is increasingly becoming a key part of the commercial real estate industry's business models,” he said.

The project has been conceived to the requirements of the Table Space and the generation of renewable energy is directly connected to the operating needs, Jain added. It also reflects how committed energy infrastructure can support organisations to become more accountable with their energy and work towards long-term decarbonisation, he added.

Adoption of renewable energy keeps picking up speed.

The collaboration is part of a growing movement in the Indian commercial real estate sector to integrate renewable energy into their business strategies. While corporate occupiers remain focused on reducing their emissions and promoting sustainable business practices, managed office providers are also investing in clean energy solutions to meet their customers' evolving expectations.

The 2.7MWp solar plant once installed will supply a dedicated renewable power source for Table Space's managed office centres in Karnataka. The initiative serves as a shining example of the increasing significance of renewable energy procurement in commercial real estate and how sustainability-focused long-term renewable energy contracts can help lower emissions and enhance more sustainable workplace operations.
