Delhi-NCR is seeing shifting cloud patterns along with cold breezes, leading to cool mornings and evenings, even as strong sunlight brings warmer conditions during the day.
Winter is currently in its last stage in Delhi-NCR, and the weather is gradually changing. The intensity of the sun at daytime is high, and people are feeling a glow of warmth. The daily temperature is increasing gradually. The temperature is again decreasing in the mornings and evenings due to cold. The thick fog experienced earlier is no more seen in Delhi; only a layer of mist is visible at early mornings.
Due to an active western disturbance over hilly areas, the movement of clouds is being observed in Delhi. No chance of rain is expected in Delhi at present.
How the weather will be in Delhi today
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light cloudy conditions are prevailing over Delhi, and we can experience a slight amount of mist in a few areas, but that would also clear soon. Cold winds are also likely to blow at a speed of 5-10 km per hour. On the other hand, bright sunshine could prevail, which might result in a rise in the maximum temperature.
The maximum temperature for the current day is expected to be at about 26 degrees Celsius, with the minimum temperature possibly ranging around 11 degrees Celsius.
Weather outlook for the week
The India Meteorological Department has predicted that Delhi-NCR will continue to have mostly clear weather throughout the week, and plenty of sunshine during the day. With the continued clear skies, the day temperature may increase further and the temperatures continue to soar.
Till February 13, winds of around 15–20 km per hour might blow in the region, thereby bringing some relief in terms of pollution levels. The combination of sunshine and strong winds might make the daytime weather pleasant as well. During February 14 and 15, wind speed is expected to reduce to about 5–10 km per hour.
During the week, the maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to hover between 22°C and 25°C, while the minimum can oscillate between 11°C and 13°C.
Ayanagar recorded the lowest temperature
On Monday, Delhi observed moving clouds throughout the day. Along with moving clouds, good amounts of sunny weather were observed. Due to this, people observed a sense of warmth in Delhi. Along with this, cold winds continued to blow. When the evenings started, people observed cold temperatures again.
The highest temperature in Delhi was recorded around 26.7°C on Monday, and the minimum temperature was recorded to be 9.4°C. Ayanagar was found the coldest area with minimum temperature 8.8°C among all these areas of Delhi. Other minimum temperatures recorded in the city were 9.8°C in Palam, 9.4°C in Lodhi Road and 10.8°C in Ridge. Overall, the day is warmer because of the sun but the cold is still present during morning and evening.
