The CSR program aims to provide skill development training to over 2,000 students in rural areas, focusing on technical education for the next generation of engineers.
Xoriant, a global engineering and technology services company, has announced the launch of the SKSVMACET–Xoriant Innovation & Skill Development Center at the Kamala and Venkappa M. Agadi College of Engineering & Technology campus in Lakshmeshwar, Karnataka. Designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the center aims to equip students particularly from rural and semi-urban backgrounds with industry-relevant digital skills, hands-on exposure, and structured career pathways.
As an industry partner, Xoriant will provide technical expertise, mentorship, and entrepreneurship guidance to over 2,000 students. From guiding them on real-world problem statements to supporting innovation projects and providing exposure to industry practices, the center will deliver hands-on, industry-aligned training programs.
The initiative also provides opportunities for Xoriant employees to engage with students, mentor aspiring engineers, and contribute to skill development beyond the workplace. Speaking on the initiative, Krupa, CHRO, Xoriant, said, “In today’s AI-powered world, skill development is not just about technical or soft skills. It is about encouraging engineering thinking where students don’t just execute tasks, but create, think, and apply intelligence to solve real problems. By bringing engineering practices closer to students in rural communities, we aim to enhance skills and provide practical exposure.”
After undergoing technical upskilling, working on live industry projects, participating in hackathons, coding challenges, and incubation programs, students will earn certifications that support internship opportunities, placement prospects, and startup readiness.
From SKSVMACET’s perspective, the collaboration addresses a gap in employability. Geetha H. Agadi, Vice Chairperson, SKSVMACET, said, “The IT industry is evolving rapidly with AI, cloud, data science, and automation. Education can no longer remain disconnected from industry realities. Our collaboration with Xoriant emphasizes skill-based learning and practical exposure. With Karnataka’s push towards innovation, start-ups, and the digital economy, this innovation center will help students become job-ready for the future.”
The SKSVMACET–Xoriant Innovation & Skill Development Center highlights the importance of industry-academia partnerships in the evolving digital economy for developing rural engineering talent.
