Advait Greenergy and GUOFUHEE demonstrate a 5 MW alkaline electrolyser to support India’s green hydrogen goals.
Advait Greenergy Private Limited (AGPL), a subsidiary of Advait Energy Transitions Limited, and its technology partner Jiangsu Guofu Hydrogen Energy Equipment Co., Ltd. (GUOFUHEE) have jointly conducted a live Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and technical demonstration of a 1,000 Nm³/h (approximately 5 MW) pressurised alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen generation system at GUOFUHEE’s manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang, China. The demonstration, held on June 29–30, 2026, allowed customers and industry stakeholders to observe the electrolyser operating under actual industrial conditions before deployment. The initiative marks one of India’s early demonstrations of a 5 MW alkaline electrolyser, supporting the country’s green hydrogen, National Green Hydrogen Mission, electrolyser technology, and clean energy ambitions.
Collaboration supports localisation under Green Hydrogen Mission
The demonstration forms part of the strategic collaboration between AGPL and GUOFUHEE, which combines global hydrogen technology expertise with Indian manufacturing, engineering and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) capabilities. The partnership is focused on supporting the localisation of advanced electrolyser technology in line with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission while strengthening domestic capabilities in hydrogen production infrastructure.
Industrial performance evaluated under real operating conditions
During the Factory Acceptance Test, participants observed several key operational parameters, including cold start, hot restart, hot standby, dynamic load response, load regulation, hydrogen purity, operating pressure and specific energy consumption. The demonstration was designed to provide transparency into the performance of industrial-scale hydrogen generation systems and facilitate technical interactions between customers and engineering teams before commercial deployment.
More than 70 organisations attend technical programme
The two-day programme attracted representatives from more than 70 organisations across the green hydrogen ecosystem through physical and virtual participation. Attendees included renewable energy developers, EPC companies, industrial hydrogen users, consultants, utilities and public sector organisations. Organisations participating in the programme included ReNew, AM Green/Greenko, Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India, Hygenco, Torrent Power, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL, NTPC Group, port authorities, leading EPC companies and industrial hydrogen offtakers.
Company highlights manufacturing expansion plans

Advait Greenergy has established a 30 MW alkaline electrolyser assembly facility at Kadi, Gujarat, with plans to expand its manufacturing capacity to 300 MW and eventually 1 GW. The company provides integrated green hydrogen solutions, including electrolyser manufacturing, engineering, EPC services, balance of plant (BoP), hydrogen storage, compression and related infrastructure.
Focus on long-term hydrogen infrastructure development
The collaboration between AGPL and GUOFUHEE is expected to support domestic manufacturing of advanced electrolyser technology, facilitate technology transfer and strengthen integrated hydrogen infrastructure across sectors such as refineries, fertilisers, steel, chemicals and mobility. The partners said the initiative is intended to contribute to the expansion of India’s green hydrogen value chain and support the country’s long-term decarbonisation objectives.
