Blue Energy Motors Secures $50 Million Funding to Accelerate Clean Trucking Revolution in India

Blue Energy Motors Raises $30 Million to Accelerate India’s Green Freight Revolution

Blue Energy Motors (BEM), India’s leading manufacturer of LNG and electric heavy-duty trucks, has raised its total funding to $50 million with a fresh $30 million round led by Nikhil Kamath and Omnitex Ventures. Strategic investors Essar and FPT (Iveco Group) continue their support, enabling BEM to expand at the forefront of India’s green mobility transformation.

Funding to Boost Production, Innovation, and Green Logistics

The capital injection will allow BEM — currently with a manufacturing capacity of 10,000 trucks — to scale production, enhance R&D, and introduce new LNG and electric truck models. The funds will also support nationwide expansion at a time when India’s logistics sector faces increasing pressure to decarbonize.

Proven Impact and Industry Partnerships

BEM has already sold around 1,000 LNG trucks, which have clocked over 60 million kilometers, reducing more than 15,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. These deployments address the urgent need for cleaner logistics, as the transport sector accounts for nearly 15% of India’s carbon emissions — a major challenge for climate targets and urban air quality.

Investor Confidence and Industry Leadership

Founder & MD Anirudh Bhuwalka said BEM is “well-positioned to lead India’s transition to sustainable, zero-emission freight” through scalable, market-ready clean truck solutions. Investor Nikhil Kamath highlighted the potential for “quiet, efficient, and large-scale disruption” in logistics, while Anshuman Ruia of Essar noted the alignment of BEM’s platform with broader corporate sustainability goals.

Looking Ahead

With a strong pipeline of LNG and EV trucks and a nationwide expansion strategy, Blue Energy Motors’ latest funding round positions the company to consolidate market leadership and set industry benchmarks in India’s transition to net-zero transportation.
