IGL has published its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report for FY 2024–25. The report shows how the company is working responsibly towards environment, safety and social development. The company also follows all nine principles of the National Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC).

Environmental Performance
IGL is working to make clean energy while minimising its impact on environment. The company used 2,344 TJ of energy and increased its use of renewable energy, generating 5.61 lakh units of electricity from solar power. The company has also created a Net Zero Strategy, which plan to reduce carbon emissions and support India’s goal to become low carbon economy.

In water management, IGL used 15,881 kilolitres of water efficiently during the year. It managed to bring down the level of greenhouse gas emissions to 12.04 lakh tonnes and 1.4 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent. This reduction is primarily because of the installation of solar panels and fixing of gas leaks to avoid emissions. Besides, IGL further diversified its renewable energy portfolio with investments in CBG plants and EV charging infrastructure to enhance clean and green fuel supplies.

Employee Welfare and Safety
IGL employs 720 permanent employees and over 11,000 contractual workers, ensuring 100% coverage under health, accident, and gratuity benefits. The company has maintained a zero-fatality safety record for the year. It conducts regular training programs on fire safety, first aid, and behaviour-based safety covering all employees and workers.

The firm also follows an Equal Opportunity Policy as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, which means it provides job opportunities to disabled and has facilities like wheelchair and ramp in all offices. The total workforce of women is 5.7%, and company ensures full support for parents with parental leave return to work and the retention rate after their return is 100%.

Governance and Ethical Practices
IGL manages its business in a fair and transparent way. The company has rules and policies like ESG Policy, Code of Conduct, and Whistle-Blower Policy for employees to act responsibly and ethically. Such policies are supervised a senior official, the Director, who ensures they are duly complied with.

In the financial year 2024–25, there were no cases of corruption, data leaks, or human rights violations in the company. The company has set up a Security Operations Centre (SOC) to protect its data and gets its cybersecurity checked by independent experts such as KPMG and Bureau Veritas.

CSR and Community Development
IGL spent ₹36.54 crore on CSR initiatives, benefiting over 2 lakh people across health, education, skill development, and environmental programs. Major projects included mobile health camps, cancer screening drives, women’s livelihood programs, education for differently abled children, and solar street light installations.
CSR activities were implemented in partnership with NGOs such as ISKCON, Sanjeevani Life Beyond Cancer, and Tamana Foundation. The company also provided CNG buses for differently abled students and supported “Project Udaan” to empower rural women entrepreneurs.
