Italy, Albania, UAE Sign €1B Deal For Adriatic Energy

Italy, Albania, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have entered into a groundbreaking €1 billion agreement that marks the beginning of a transformative journey to improve energy interconnectivity and sustainability in the Mediterranean region. Albania's Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure and Energy Minister, Belinda Balluku, also pointed out strategic benefits of this project. She underlined that the agreement enables Albania to diversify its renewable energy portfolio while opening access to more advanced markets in Italy, offering the country new opportunities for economic growth and energy resilience.

The initiative brings together major players in the energy sector, including Italian grid operator Terna and UAE’s National Energy Company, Taqa.
