Kshtipurti Portal Opened to Assist Farmers Affected by Unseasonal Rains and Hailstorms

The Haryana Government has introduced the Kshtipurti Portal to enable farmers to report crop damage caused by the recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms across different parts of the state. The effort has been initiated at the instance of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and aims to make it easy to collect information and distribute compensation to the affected individuals.
Portal has been set up to allow farmers to feed crop damage data caused due to the irregular rains and hailstorms. The step has been undertaken after taking into account the widespread loss and damage to the agricultural activities of farmers in various districts due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms. All Deputy Commissioners in the districts have been directed by the government to prepare and send relevant crop damage data to the state headquarters for further processing.
The gateway has already been opened for 615 villages across 10 state districts, where the farmers can lodge their complaints regarding their losses. The villages are 66 in Ambala, 20 in Bhiwani, 7 in Hisar, 9 in Charkhi Dadri, 78 in Yamunanagar, 66 in Jind, 81 in Rewari, 19 in Palwal, 9 in Nuh, and 160 villages in Mahendragarh.
Farmers are asked to provide information about the extent of the damage to the crops through this portal so that it can assist the state government in evaluating the losses better. The main objective of this exercise is to see that farmers are provided with relief and compensation in a timely manner for the losses incurred due to the weather aberrations.
The Kshtipurti Portal will mechanize the settlement of claims and improve the pace at which the government can respond to farmers' needs. With real-time data from farmers being made accurately, the government can speed up compensation processes so that farmers are provided with necessary aid without unnecessary delay.
This scheme is among the efforts of the overall state government initiative among farmers and mitigating problems resulting from unseasonal weather. Apart from immediate relief, the government is also implementing long-term measures to battle the effects of such weather on agriculture.
All those affected by their lost crops are encouraged to utilize the portal by providing pertinent information of the damaged crops, i.e., type of crop lost, extent of damage suffered, and affected areas. In doing this, officials will be in a better position to evaluate the situation more accurately and direct support to affected individuals in their right time.
By opening the portal, the government of Haryana has enabled farmers to report loss and ensures they are not unduly burdened with processes. The portal is made easy and available to all farmers in impacted areas. The portal is set to save time on data gathering and claim processing, which will facilitate rapid response to the crisis.
The measure is being initiated as part of the state's ongoing endeavor to neutralize the effect of climate change on farming and assist farmers during times of hardship. The government has also made efforts so that the compensation given to farmers is just and timely, thus allowing them to overcome the loss and carry on their agricultural trade without any other inconvenience.
The Chief Minister has urged all the farmers to use the portal and fill in proper details so that the government is able to fast track the relief. The state government is also dedicated to ensuring that all farmers affected by the unusual weather patterns receive the kind of support necessary for them to come back to their agricultural activity.
The government has also invested to make the observation of weather disasters and hazards stronger, and efforts are being made to reduce their impact in the future. Along with relief at a short term, efforts are also being made at a long term so that farmers learn to cope with the changes in climatic patterns and become less vulnerable to extreme weather conditions. While the government proceeds with these measures, attention is placed on extending quick and efficient relief to the most hit victims of the unusual rains and hailstorms. The opening of the Kshtipurti Portal is a major step in the continued endeavor of assisting Haryana's farming sector in times of hardship.
