Salesforce, a global leader in  client relationship  operation( CRM)  results, has  blazoned a new phase of its Nature Positive Strategy with a focus on addressing water use and sustainability in its data centers and energy  force. The company unveiled a  devoted program aimed at promoting responsible water  operation, enhancing original watershed adaptability, and supporting nature- grounded  results in regions including Brazil and Mexico.

The new action marks a significant expansion of Salesforce’s sustainability  docket, reflecting a growing recognition that water plays a critical  part in climate adaptability and commercial environmental responsibility. The company stated that the program will address both  functional and  force chain water impacts, with particular attention to data center operations which are known for their  ferocious energy and water conditions.

Under the new program, Salesforce plans to measure and manage water- related  pitfalls and  openings across its global operations. The action includes setting sustainable water  pullout and discharge  prospects for both first- party and third- party data centers. The company will also  unite with its  pall  mates to ameliorate  translucency and performance around water use. In addition, Salesforce intends to attack the water intensity of electricity generation by advancing clean energy procurement and supporting grid decarbonization in precedence regions.

Beyond internal measures, the company’s water-  concentrated  sweats extend to investing in nature- grounded  results that enhance water vacuity and quality. These  systems will include reforestation and groundwater discharge  enterprise around Salesforce’s  crucial  services and data centers, designed to replenish ecosystems and strengthen their adaptability to climate change.

Salesforce’s commitment to water stewardship builds upon its broader Nature Positive Strategy, launched in 2023. The strategy sets out ambitious  pretensions to measure and reduce the company’s impact on nature, while also contributing to large- scale restoration and conservation  sweats encyclopedically. Its targets include supporting the conservation, restoration, and growth of 100 million trees by 2030,  constricting for one million tons of high- quality blue carbon credits by 2030, and distributing$ 100 million through its Nature and Sustainability Philanthropy fund by 2031.

In Latin America, Salesforce is  channelizing new investments toward community- led watershed restoration  systems. The company  blazoned support for Conservation International’s “ Conservador das Águas ”  design in Brazil’s Jaguari River Basin, a vital water source serving nearly nine million people in São Paulo. The action focuses on restoring springs,  adding  native  foliage cover,  perfecting water quality, and strengthening original watershed  operation. Salesforce is also backing three large- scale restoration  systems in Mexico aimed at restoring  demoralized  geographies,  perfecting biodiversity, and enhancing water system adaptability.

In addition to its terrestrial  enterprise, Salesforce is expanding its work on ocean- grounded carbon  junking through blue carbon  requests. The company launched its Blue Carbon action in 2022 to help develop standardized  fabrics for assessing ocean- grounded carbon  insulation  systems and their corresponding credits. Blue carbon refers to carbon captured by ocean and  littoral ecosystems  similar as mangroves, seagrasses, and tidal  morasses, which play an essential  part in  mollifying climate change.

Salesforce has been  uniting with  transnational alliances to strengthen this arising field. It  mates with the “ Mangrove Advance ” alliance, which mobilizes finance and  moxie for sustainable mangrove conservation and restoration. The company is also part of “ Symbiosis, ” a nature- grounded carbon  junking coalition that plans to include blue carbon  systems in its 2026 request for  proffers( RFP). These  sweats are designed to advance high- integrity blue carbon  requests that can deliver measurable climate and ecological benefits.

Sunya Norman, Senior Vice President of Impact at Salesforce,  stressed the global significance of the new commitments. She stated that the company’s approach aligns with the growing call at COP30 for climate action that integrates original leadership and global impact. “ At COP30, the world is calling for action that connects original leadership with global scale, ” Norman said. “ By investing in watershed restoration and nature- grounded  results, we’re helping  cover ecosystems that sustain communities while  erecting a more  flexible earth. ”

Salesforce’s water-  concentrated  enterprise come at a time when data centers are under  adding  scrutiny for their environmental footmark. As demand for  pall computing continues to grow,  enterprises over energy consumption and water use have pushed technology companies to seek innovative sustainability  results. By addressing water  effectiveness in its operations and investing in ecosystem restoration, Salesforce aims to demonstrate that digital  metamorphosis and environmental stewardship can progress hand in hand.
