DBS Bank’s Sustainability Report 2025 shows its sustainable financing commitments have reached SGD 102 billion, with India emerging as the fastest-growing market for green and social finance.
DBS Bank has released its Sustainability Report 2025 which reports that the bank has committed SGD 102 billion to projects that support environmental and social goals by the end of 2025, representing a 14 percent year-on-year increase. The figures reflect that the bank is investing into projects such as clean energy, sustainable infrastructure and initiatives that benefit society.
The Bank has played a significant role in financing sustainable development initiatives by acting as the lead manager of ESG bonds with total bond issuances of SGD 41 billion issued between 2023 and 2025. These bonds have been used to support projects in the areas of renewable sources of energy, sustainable infrastructure, green buildings, and socially responsible development projects.
The report states that India is now DBS’s fastest growing market and has become its third largest sustainable finance market in Asia. The increased growth is due to strong demand for financing associated with energy transition as well as infrastructure development.
“As Asia continues to grow, businesses are continuing to invest in low carbon technologies, electrification and resilient infrastructure. It was very encouraging that DBS Group crossed SGD 100 billion in sustainable financing commitments in 2025 as it reflected the continued engagement we’ve seen from corporates and investors across the region,” said Helge Muenkel, Group Chief Sustainability Officer, DBS Bank.
The bank said it is now more focused on protecting nature and helping businesses along with reducing climate change and prepare for climate impacts.
In India, DBS provided a ₹670-crore sustainability-linked trade facility to Indorama India, where the loan conditions are linked to the company improving its emissions levels, water usage and energy efficiency. The bank also acted as arranger and sustainability coordinator for a USD 350 million sustainability-linked revolving credit facility for ChrysCapital X LLC, which has been described as the first sustainability-linked loan raised by an India-focused private equity fund.
Beyond financing activities, the report noted that community programmes supported by the bank have reached more than one million vulnerable individuals across Asia. The DBS Foundation has committed over SGD 160 million since 2024 for initiatives related to essential needs, financial inclusion, and community resilience.
