Bharat Vistaar, a multilingual AI tool for agriculture, has been introduced to assist farmers in improving yields and reducing operational risks.

Bharat Vistaar Launched: Multilingual AI Tool to Support Farmers

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the launch of Bharat Vistaar (Virtually Integrated System to Access Agricultural Resources). This is a multilingual AI-based system that will help farmers increase their productivity and mitigate risks associated with farming.

This is Sitharaman’s ninth consecutive Union Budget speech. During the speech, she referred to Bharat Vistaar as a digital platform that will increase the availability of agricultural information to farmers.

A Single Platform for Farm Advice
Bharat Vistaar will help farmers have one platform where they can get accurate and location-based advice in various Indian languages.

The platform will link the government’s Agri Stack service with research inputs from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and its recommended practices. This will help farmers easily access expert advice on agricultural practices that they can implement in their day-to-day activities.

According to the finance minister, the platform will utilize AI to analyze data related to crops, soil, weather, and farming practices, and then provide scientific information in the form of practical advice that farmers can implement on the ground. Through the integration of digital farmer records on Agri Stack and research-based advice from ICAR, the platform will enable farmers to make more informed decisions.

The Budget 2026 speech also mentioned that the platform will enable the promotion of good farming practices in various climate and soil areas of the country.

Bharat Vistaar, which focuses on trusted information and region-specific advice, is intended to make agricultural knowledge more accessible to farmers, particularly through the provision of advice in local languages.
