After recent rainfall, intense heat is making a comeback in Delhi-NCR, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 34°C on April 11. Here’s how the weather is likely to unfold in the coming days.

Delhi Sizzles as Scorching Heat and Strong Winds Take Over This Week

The recent spell of dust storms, rain, and hail in Delhi-NCR has now come to an end. From today on Saturday, the weather in the city and nearby areas is going to change soon again. As the western disturbance weakens, clear skies, bright sunshine, and strong winds are coming back. Due to this, the risk of intense heat is going to come back in the coming days.

Today the weather pattern would be quite clear and sunny with good visibility throughout the day, as per the report released by IMD. However, as the day moves on, there would be an increase in surface wind speeds that would be around 11 to 15 kilometres per hour. Due to dust-laden winds, the climate is going to be very hot and dry.

The morning's temperature has been recorded at 21 degrees Celsius, which provided some comfort, but by the afternoons, the temperatures are going to rise up to 34 degrees Celsius.

The temperature is expected to rise up to 40°C

According to weather experts, the temperature will increase quickly in the coming days. On April 12 and 13, the maximum temperature is likely to be around 35°C. By April 15, it may rise further to 36–37°C.

If this trend continues, Delhi’s temperature could touch 40°C by the end of April. Since the humidity is currently low (around 18–19%), the weather will feel dry rather than humid, increasing the chances of heatwave-like conditions.

Last 24 Hours Weather & Air Quality

In the past 24 hours, Delhi’s weather has changed quite a bit. The cool feeling that was there due to rain and clouds in April is now gone.

The only positive news is about air quality. Because of the recent rain and strong winds, Delhi’s AQI has improved, and pollution levels have gone down.

Health Warning for Citizens

After seeing the rise in temperatures during afternoon, health experts have advised people to not to go out straight in the bright sun. Wear bright light colours of cloth that are cotton, keep water bottle with you. Due to string winds, body can easily lose water and leads to dehydration. So, it is important to take more fluids to keep your body hydrate.
